Help!

I would really like to change the layout of this blog. Nothing too drastic and still simple and easy to read but I have no idea how to do it! Anyone can suggest anything? I have looked at blogger's new 'design' template feature and I really do not like the look of any of them.
I will be eternally grateful for any help!

I'm planning an update on the website!

So hold tight! But to keep you going I thought I should post this wonderful thing I just found via Gala Darling (She is always the greatest inspiration to me so I highly suggest you check out her blog when you get a chance!). G.P.S : Global Poetry System is a wonderful website that specialiseing in maping poetry from members across the globe in a similar way to flickr with photographs on a map or an iPhone with it's location settings. I find it fascinating to discover poetry from my home town, and to hear stories from people I have never met. Such an inspiration! So here is an example of a piece I just read:

"beautiful things can happen everywhere
but this nightfall in london had something magical in it
not the mist of a polluted claustrophobic london
it was a day coming to an end and promising a new dawn
as i walked alone across Thames, i felt it as the perfect metaphor for my own loneliness
the silence, the low-lights, the wind blowing
on my face and the sound of my footsteps.
i must have walked across the whole riverside
stopping occasionaly to glance the buildings on the other margin
so many shapes and sizes and i felt so small, unsignificant
unknown, anonymous, a little human exploring another planet
a labyrint and a melting pot but not a place to harbour my soul
in fact that nightfall was so lovely because in a souless place
i found a piece of something rare
a piece of genuine joy and freedom upon the form of an old man playing guitar
he was there as alone as i was, and i could see tiredness in his eyes
he had nobody to listen to his songs, but he sang as if the whole city was listening
he sang as if everyday he was running out of time to be happy
as if his rough voice was about to be soon silenced
i smiled and he told me "come back ,come dance"
and i did come back.
i told him "you should record a CD sir"
he replied he was doing that just for fun.
How many things do we do just for fun in our everyday life?
i felt the echo of his words in the back of my mind
and was invaded by a sense of shame because
ultimately he´s the old man, im the young woman with a life ahed
i should be the one doing things just for fun
but then again i realised ageing grants ppl the possibility to have fun with simple things
they know clock is ticking whereas us, live as if the world was ours and as if we owned time
so in that nightfall over london i got home
opened the window to feel the breeze and the sounds of the night
and took a deep breathe to exhale my solitude
I realised, the more plans i make, I keep walking aimlessly
like i did on that nightfall over london."

Things I love...this week?

The reason for the weird title is that it is suppose to be on a Thursday as started out by the lovely Gala Darling (follow the link for wonderful stuff!). So basically it is a little list to compile each week to appreciate all the wonderful things in your life at that moment in time. Here is mine, please let me know yours! (Beware many exclamation marks will follow)

Planning trips and booked flights, I am off to Oslo in a weeks time! I hope it to be a trip of many!

Getting my photography seen and appreciated. Fingers crossed and I will show you next week! Oh, I am also the photographer for the launch party of Glass magazine Issue two!

Summer! I have officially broken up for my summer break although I am super busy yet this makes me the happiest. I love what I do and although it is technically work it is wonderful.

Looking forward to meeting up with friends that I haven't seen in quite some time.

Lie ins! Although there is work to do on summer break I can lie in and day dream.

Making plans for creative projects

I am going to see Tim Walker next week!!!!! I think this is the best thing on this list!

Im Sorry

I am very sorry to all of you that have been missing my presence on this blog for over a month. I have been experiencing some difficulties in my personal life, so writing on here in an honest way has been very testing for me. Instead of feeling dishonest and not putting my heart into these posts I have refrained and to be honest things for me are still a little difficult. Before I can 'make a full recovery' and return to blogging I leave you with this small update of what I have been up to. I recently assisted the lovely Jessie Craig on a shoot for Dirrty Glam magazine, a very cool, online, French magazine. Craig was shoot Bonny Wright (actress) to accompany an interview and for the cover image. The shoot went swimmingly, creating amazing images! To find out more you can read my work experience blog here. I also shot some backstage photos which I was very happy to discover are now featured in the magazine!

Behind the Scenes at Volt

I am quickly becoming a one stop shop for magazine insights (kind of...lol. Not on the level as many other fabulous blogs but it does seem to be a subject I tend to witter on about. Joyfully of course!). I have a new insight for you guys to feast your eyes on! I have just received these amazing images from behind the scenes at Volt Magazine, from the making of Issue 7. I find it fascinating to see the magazine through each stage of its production and from so little so much is created. See the stages bellow and follow the link for more Volt goodness!

Laver's Law - Wunderbuzz

So, it has been a while and I really do apologise. I feel very rubbish about it! I have been busy as of late with a family trip to Scotland (Sans-Internet) and this week taking to work. I have started to work at .Cent Magazine, which is a lovely place to work with home-made family style lunches and even a pooch 'Dino' to accompany me! It is all part of my work experience for university and you can read about it more here. I am also assisting Jessie Craig (whose work of course I love...as you may of read on here before) and Nicholas Lawn. Nicholas is a photographer whose work I have only recently been introduced to but I am very quickly falling head over heals for. He is also such a lovely guy, and I am very happy to have the pleasure to working with him. I will put pictures up here but I really want to make them into a whole post in order to do his work justice.
On another note, I have just found this fascinating idea/theory on Wunderbuzz, that relates to the beautiful typography above. James Laver, a historian, author and curator at the V&A created a timeline of fashion known as 'Lavers Law'. I think the basic gist of it is the association of words used to describe the fashion of a period is representative of how far in the past or future they are. Interesting idea and very lovely typography.

Just Because...

Sorry I havn't been posting very much lately. Lots of work on! Will show you photos when its done but for now here is the beautiful miu miu collection shot for 'because magazine'.

Indulgent

I have just been having a bit of a Tim Walker indulgent afternoon, cutting his recent editorials from Vogue Italia to slip into my collection, reading up on past interviews and watching clips on YouTube. I find him to be such an inspiration, not only the amazing images he creates. For one person to have such a wonderful imagination and then to capture it to show the world is something very special. I found the bellow interview to be so interesting (although the quality isn't incredible and I cannot read the questions or subtitles), especially when he talks about fashion photography being the only medium to capture the unreal and fantasy, and that he never shoots within the studio or uses flash photography (something that I myself am not keen on). I hope you enjoy it as much as me! Please comment on what you think or if you have also seen something incredible that creates passion within you.

Your dreams are as you make them

You know your becoming a bit obsessed when you start dreaming of whatever your obsessed about (if that makes sense?). For me it is Tim Walker's photography. Example: Last night the above image was the setting for my dream. I was working on the boat as a waitress, as the space around it became a restaurant. It was rather peculiar (as dreams are and it is already pretty peculiar) as I had to stop the guests from getting on the boat and stop them from eating cakes that they were gorging on. Anyone want to analyse? (Apart from I think the cake thing may have something to do with the bake sale in Glee). Goes to show you are a creation of your surroundings!

Right from Scratch

I have been considering giving this blog a fresh new life for a little while. It seems when I look at my favourite blogs, they give an insight into the bloggers lives, opinions and the bloggers themselves almost become Internet friends that you can look to, to cheer you up or inspire you, even if its without them even realising it. I personally find tumblr pages to be a little un-personal, however I do have a tendency to indulge in beautiful images posted, and really appreciate them as a good source of research.

So, where does this leave 'oh my'? Well I originally set up this blog to be a little different to the norm of blogs regurgitating content that has been written before. I always knew that I wouldn't be the first on the fashion news, as there are bigger blogs that already do a fantastic job of this, and to be honest trending fashion has never excited me very much. 

I started this blog to do what I love, creating imagery and what I like to call 'fashion collages' in a similar way to a magazine. I feel my approach is more unique and overall stays true to who I am and what I do. I still love this approach and will continue to create my posts through Photoshop however I think after a year it is time to mix it up a bit and give you all a bit more of me! A greater insight into who I am, my adventures in the wonderland of fashion, my loves, thoughts and passions and I would love to hear from all my readers and enjoy this journey together. So lets start...

♥ I am 20 and a student studying Fashion Promotion and in particular fashion styling and photography. I love it for its imagination and absurd nature. 

♥ One day I hope to work at a magazine that inspires and excites people, in the city I feel complete, New York. A city where anything can happen at any moment and most probably is somewhere near by. The city that has a bubble fight in the middle of Times Square and throws parties on the Subway. 

♥ I will one day live there with my lovely boy (My Name is Tom) and have many adventures. 

♥ For now I live on the outskirts of London, another city of beauty and eccentricity.

♥ I work at a wonderful magazine, Glass (check it out here). 

♥ I spend my time with my head stuck in magazines, scouring clothing from different eras in jumble sales, car boots and charity shops, collecting peculiar cameras and baking an assortment of healthy and (very) un-healthy goodies!
