More Marc Jacobs action

Its finally happened. You can get pre-squished 'Marc Jacob/Stephen Jones'-esq boater hats, from Topshop. The association is obvious and simple enough to replicate yourself. This must be why the Topshop imitation amuses me rather than leaving me gagging for one. I still feel in two ways over these hats and I think I would have to try one on for size. For anyone else lusting over the boater, yet doesn't want to sit on one yourself, Topshop's got it sorted!

Jacobs not Crackers

Now, like a lot of you I have been a Marc Jacobs fan for quit some time. Lusting won't help me get my hands on a piece of his, let alone the pennies in my purse. However now there is a viable option that has me grasping to those purse strings. Marc Jacobs has just launched a chic (on the cheap) merchandise diffusion line, 'Jacobs by Marc Jacobs'. The price hits the spot and the designs are looking rather gorgeous with fabrics from his previous main-line collections and a real summer vibe.Oddly my favourite is the swim cap although I can't see myself getting so much use out of it. Other items in the collection include bathing caps, baubles, and bikinis. Who knows in the near future you may catch me down Oxford Street with my cap tightly on!

McLovin'

Photobucket

I have a ticket to Graduate Fashion Week today, yet unfortunately I am unable to make it due to knee problems. A very frustrating situation, especially as I have heard about such amazing stuff from our graduates at Epsom (University Creative Arts). I wish them all the best of luck and if Courtney McWilliams graduate of 2008, they have a very bright future ahead of them.
I was first introduced to McWilliams' work through a close friend. She showed me her website which instantly inspired, and impressed me, with a tad feeling of envy. The amazing thing about Courtney McWilliams' work is her concentration upon concept and her evidently strong talent of fashion promotion. For me this is McWilliams' speciality. She technically excels graphically and through her beautiful, collaged, out-proportioned figures that not only stand to illustrate her fashion creations, but her fashion creatures.
Currently pursuing an MA in Menswear at Royal College of Art London, McWilliams already has a lot of experience under her belt. You may have already seen her work featured in Disorder magazine and Textile view magazine. It is fair to say that we will be seeing a lot of Courtney McWilliams in the future, with more wonderful inspiration for me and my friends to drool over.

Down the Rabbit Hole

Just a few experiments with bokeh and photographing down the barrel of a kaleidoscope. The thing with bokeh is I can never quite get it right. Well from what I can tell from other photographers images. I have followed a few tutorials yet I still find myself lost in a see of bokeh. If any of you have any tips or knowledge on this please let me know!
